Information about ethnic migration

 

Since 1991 through 1 quarter of 2015 there were 259 539 thousand families or  953 908 ethnic Kazakh people who came back to their historical motherland and received the status of oralman. They constitute 5,5% of total number of population.

Most part of oralmans – 61,5% came from Uzbekistan, 14,3% of them are from China, 9,3% - from Mongolia, 6,8% - from Turkmenistan, 4,6% - from Russia and 3,5% are from other countries.

Countries of the oralmans' origin  predetermined the regions of their settlement. Most number of oralmans settled in  South Kazakhstan – 23,2%, Almaty – 20,2%, Mangistau – 12,7%, Zhambyl – 7,4% oblasts and 36,5% - in other regions.

Persons of employable age constitute 55,6%, under 18 children – 39,9 % and pensioners – 4,5 %.

From among the oralmans of  active working age by education level 8,7% have higher education, 20,6% secondary special education, 60,8% general secondary education and 9,9% have no any education.

380 families or 1026 ethnic Kazakh people moved to the republic and received the status of oralmans for 1 quarter of 2015

         Most of oralmans – 80,8 % came from the Republic of Uzbekistan, 5,5 % from Turkmenistan, 3,9 % are from PRC, 4,0 % are from Mongolia, 2,4 % are from Russia and 3,4 % are from other countries.

Countries of the oralmans' origin  predetermined the regions of their settlement. Most number of oralmans settled in Kostanai – 94 families (233 people), Zhambyl – 73 families (199 people), SKO – 46 families (124 people), Mangistau – 39 families (159 people), Akmola – 31 families (68 people), Karaganda – 27 families (54 people), Pavlodar – 18 families (40 people), Atyrau – 16 families (38 people), EKO – 12 families (30 people), Aktobe – 10 families (50 people), NKO – 5 families (15 people), WKO – 5 families (11 people), Kyzylorda – 3 families (3 people) oblasts  and in Almaty oblast  – 1 family (2 people).

Persons of employable age constitute 60,0%, younger than that of active working age - 33,7 % and pensioners – 6,3%.

         From among the oralmans of employable age 15,9 % have higher education,  34,4 % have secondary special education, 48,0 % general secondary education and 1,7 % have no education.
