For the independence period since 1991 the Republic of Kazakhstan has granted citizenship to 260 325 families or 955 894 oralmans. Currently their segment in society constitutes 5,5 per cent.
From among ethnic Kazakhs arrived to Kazakhstan 61,6 % are from Uzbekistan, 14,2 % are from China, 9,2 % are from Mongolia, 6,8 % are from Turkmenistan, 4,6% have arrived from the Russian Federation and 3,7 % are from other far-abroad countries.
Among oralmans arrived the persons of employable age constitute 55,6%, under 18-year age children constitute 39,9 % and 4,5% fall on pension age persons.
According to the education level 8,8 % from among oralmans of employable age have higher education, 18,9 % of them have vocational secondary education, 50,6 % have general secondary education and 9,9 % have not any education.
As of October 1, 2015 data, 1164 families or 3012 ethnic Kazakhs had moved to the republic and were granted the oralman status.
Most part of oralmans, exactly 78,6 % have arrived from the Republic of Uzbekistan, 6,7 % fall on oralmans from Turkmenistan, 6,0 % are immigrants from PRC, 3,1 % are from Mongolia, 1,3 % are from Russia and 4,2 % are from other countries.
Resettlement of the oralmans was predetermined due to the countries of their origin. Most number of oralmans were settled in Kostanai oblast, 189 families (452 people), in Zhambyl oblast 213 families (529 people) were settled, 208 families (527 people) have moved to SKO, in Mangistau oblast 108 families (487 people) were settled, 132 families (278 people) were settled in Akmola oblast, in Karaganda oblast – 118 families (300 people), in Pavlodar oblast – 58 families (131 people), in Atyrau oblast – 26 families (51 people), EKO – 33 families (54 people), Aktyubinsk oblast – 23 families (99 people), NKO – 18 families (41 people), WKO – 18 families (34 people), Kyzylorda oblast – 7 families (11 people) and in Almaty oblast 13 families (18 people) were settled.
The persons of employable age constitute 61,1%, people being under employable age constitute 32,5 % and number of pension age people constitutes 6,3%.
According to the education level 15,4 % from among oralmans of employable age have higher education,, 32,9 % of them have vocational secondary education, 49,6 % have general secondary education and 2,1 % have not any education.
According to the order of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated March 20, 2014, #248 "On identifying the regions for settlement of oralmans" 14 regions, other than Astana and Almaty, were determined for settling the oralmans.
