The Agreement on implementation of a program of Split-PhD in the direction "Biology" between the Karaganda State medical University (further KSMU) and Centre for Middle East studies of the Lund university was signed in the framework of a working trip of the Vice-minister of Healthcare and Social development of RK Yelzhana Birtanova to Sweden.
This agreement will allow the teachers of KSMU to improve qualification, complete internship, carry out scientific research and be admitted to the doctorate course of PhD on basis of higher partner school by "Bolashak" program.
The above-mentioned agreement envisages conducting of research in the field of study of oncology cells and search of new anti-tumor drugs, as well as possibilities of use of stem cells in treatment of cardiovascular diseases.
Yelzhan Birtanov held the negotiations with Vice-chancellor of the university Lund, Professor Eva Viberg, in the course of which the parties considered possibilities of interaction between higher schools and signing of the Memorandum about cooperation.
With deputy dean for international cooperation faculty of medicine Kareen Fridenlund, Vice-minister discussed issues of interaction in the area of educational programs, about student and teacher exchange.
Yelzhan Birtanov also met with representatives «Pfizer H.C.P. Corporation» (Switzerland) company In the course of meeting with Vice-President of direction Global innovative food for countries of Central and Eastern Europe, Angela Lukin and Head of the direction of vaccines for regions of Kaukar, Israel, Turkey, and the Balkans, Eileen Tuzel the parties exchanged opinions on issues of cooperation in the framework of implementation of the Government RK "Densaulyk" State Healthcare Development program for 2016-2019.
In addition, there were discussed prospects of interaction on development and introduction of electronic system of monitoring of vaccination and creation «cold chain» on transportation of immunobiological drugs and during storage of vaccines in Kazakhstan including possibility of implementation of these projects in the framework of state-private partnership. Also, there were considered issues about making the Memorandum of understanding.
