In Almaty on May 20 hosted the fifth meeting of the Working Group on the control of tuberculosis among migrants with participation of representatives of the ministries of Healthcare and Social Development of the national economy, the border guard service of the CNS RK, National Center for problems of tuberculosis of the MHSD RK, International Organization for migration, non-governmental organization Project HOPE and etc.
In the meeting discussed events in the framework of the comprehensive plan to combat tuberculosis in 2014-2020, presented a draft Cross-country bilateral agreement on transboundary monitoring of TB among migrants in the countries of Central Asia for 2016.
The management of the national tuberculosis Center of the MHSD RK informed persons present about the implementation of the meeting resolution of the Working Group, held in February of this year. Representatives of the International Organization for migration presented to audience the changes in national legislation on attract foreign labor. Project HOPE introduced the glossary consisting of 120 TB terms and migration, which was supplemented in the course of the discussion.
After the meeting, by participants were adopted a resolution.
We inform, in accordance with the minimum package for cross-border control and treatment of tuberculosis in the European region of WHO (Consensus statement in Wolfheze, 2012) in Kazakhstan is taking measures to provide assistance to migrants suffering from tuberculosis tuberculosis. It is expanding access and improving the quality of diagnosis and treatment of tuberculosis, including forms with multiple and extensively drug-resistant tuberculosis among migrants, etc.
