Over 15 years of activity of the Scientific Research Institute of traumatology and orthopedy of MHSD of RK (further - SRITO Institute), were treated more than 126 thousand patients. The standards of examination and treatment of patients at the level of the Central regional, city and oblast hospitals for injuries of the musculoskeletal apparatus, thermal and chemical burns. Composed 45 medical-economic protocols of diagnostics and treatment in traumatology, orthopedics, thermal injury, maxillofacial injury, polytrauma, neurotrauma, intensive care, microsurgery, rheumatology and rehabilitation.
Since 2006 in the Institute has a training centre for postgraduate training of specialists, equipped with modern audio and video systems, tools and models for osteosynthesis, arthroscopy, endoprosthesis replacement of large joints. The SRITO conducts ongoing educational workshops, seminars-trainings, conferences with participation of leading specialists from near and far abroad.
In 2014 on the base of the Institute opened the Republican centre for the replacement of large joints. Introduced minimally invasive and revision surgery, oncoprotein hip and knee joints.
Nowadays at the Institute tested and introduced more than 30 models of hip arthroplasty of world production, set over 7,500 implants of large joints.
Along with known models in the Institute successfully applied a model of the hip endoprosthesis for cementless fixation of N. Batpenova. The release of these prostheses is made in Germany by K-Implant.
For the cycle of works devoted to the development and implementation of innovative technologies in surgery of the hip joint with endoprosthesis replacement, in 2015, staff members of the Institute awarded to the State prize of Kazakhstan in science and technology named after al-Farabi.
In 2006, the SRITO for the first time in the Republic organized the Department of arthroscopy and sports injuries, and in 2014 at its base opened a Republican center of arthroscopy and sports injuries, where annually executes more than 1500 arthroscopic operations on large joints.
In the framework of grant funding is the development of cellular technologies in the pathology of the knee cartilage, the bone defects.
In the treatment of patients with isolated and multiple trauma minimally invasive methods of osteosynthesis are carried out in the first hours after admission of patients. It was allowed to reduce the time of hospital treatment of patients with fractures of the clavicle, forearm, ankles and 5 days, exclude plaster immobilization and to begin early rehabilitation.
Along with the introduction of high-tech methods of treatment in the framework of the implementation of number of scientific and technical programs of staff of SRITO designed and developed new designs, implants for osteosynthesis of fractures of the limbs. For the first time the issue was made at the Kazakhstan plant.
Currently the Institute is working with 25 leading centers of traumatology and orthopedics of the countries of near and far abroad. Due to this, the training of specialists and scientific personnel of the Institute of modern technologies of diagnostics and treatment at training sessions and seminars held in USA, Spain, Austria, Switzerland and Germany. Over the years in the best clinics of Europe and the United States trained about 100 specialists.
