Today in Almaty took place regional meeting of intercountries working groups on theme «Migration and tuberculosis: transboundary control of tuberculosis in countries of Central Asia» in work of which the experts discussed the mechanism of interaction and project of intercountries framework agreement on resolution of issues of transboundary control of morbidity tuberculous in the region.
Representatives of ministries and the departments of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan occupied by healthcare and migration issues, and also for World Health Organization (further-WHO), International Organization for Migration, International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, national anti-tuberculosis centres, and the NGO took part in the event.
The regional sessions of working groups are held by the Ministry of Healthcare and Social Development RK and non-governmental "Project HOPE" organization in the framework of the Comprehensive plan of control of tuberculosis in the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2014-2020.
In accordance with the Minimum package for transboundary control and treatment of tuberculosis in the European region by WHO (Consensus application in Wolfheze, 2012) measures are taken in Kazakhstan on rendering of anti-tuberculosis aid to migrants, tuberculosis patients. This is expansion of access and improvement of quality of tuberculosis diagnostics and treatment, including forms with multi and broad drug resistance among migrants.
The participants of event discussed the project of intercountries framework agreement on issues of transboundary tuberculosis control, based on recommendations of WHO, where the mechanisms are represented providing control and treatment of tuberculosis among migrants. Norms providing for respective funding, an intercountries information exchange, prevention, diagnostics, treatment, epidemiological surveillance, and monitoring of sick migrants are embedded in basis of agreement.
We will remind you, International non-governmental humanitarian "Project HOPE" organization launched its program to fight Tuberculosis in Kazakhstan already in 1993 and since those times participates in introduction of various projects on tuberculosis control in the framework of grant of the Global fund to fight AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria.
