From 17 to 26 October 2016 in all regions of the country will host a ten-day campaign dedicated to the National day of refusal of alcohol consumption, with the slogan "Say No to alcohol!".The purpose of the event was to raise awareness about the negative impact of alcohol on the body, formation of the responsible attitude to health among children, adolescents and young people, promoting a sober and healthy lifestyle.
In the course of a decade in medical organizations of the country held open days, with specialist consultations; round tables, seminars-trainings on development of skills of the rejection of the use of alcoholic beverages in educational institutions with the participation of psychologists, narcologists, social workers etc.
Excessive alcohol consumption is one of the major causes of mortality, loss of health and disability of the population. It leads to mental and behavioural disorders, including alcohol dependence, severe non-communicable diseases such as liver cirrhosis, some cancers, cardiovascular disease and other organ failure.
According to the world health organization, worldwide the result of alcohol abuse die each year 3.3 million people.
This year was completed the VI National survey on prevalence of behavioral risk factors among adolescents and adult population conducted by the method of the who in 14 oblasts and cities of Astana and Almaty. It showed that in comparison with the results of previously conducted tests, evaluation of lifestyles, there is a trend of decrease of alcohol consumption from 55% in 1998 to 24.2% in 2015, abuse of alcohol, from 5% in 2012 to 4.1% in 2015.
Recall, the national day of refusal of alcohol consumption is celebrated in Kazakhstan since 2007.

It contains a comprehensive overview of the problem and suggests courses of action with proven efficacy reduce the harm associated with alcohol. Significant efficiency has strategies such as regulation of prices for alcohol, the fight with the leader
