The Ministry of health and social development of Kazakhstan held a round table on the topic "Child with special needs" with the participation of deputies of Majilis of Parliament of RK, representatives of the National Commission for women Affairs and family-demographic policy under RK President, ministries of education and science, culture and sports, Finance, national economy, United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in Kazakhstan, public associations of disabled persons and local Executive bodies.
Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister of healthcare and social development Svetlana Zhakupova stressed that according to the Constitution of Kazakhstan, the child is under state protection.
"For 25 years of independence our country has done a great job in protecting the rights of the child, creating conditions for their full and comprehensive development. A confirmation step of confirming that Kazakhstan, friendly to the child, is the introduction of an Ombudsman for the rights of the child in Kazakhstan", - she said.
During the round table discussed the issues of realization of rights of children with disabilities to education; health care; provision of special social services; labor and employment; social protection; participation in cultural, leisure and sporting life; accessibility to information.
