During the years of independence in Kazakhstan at the expense of the state budget is built and put into operation 1312 health care facilities, including 8 medical research centers, 32 specialized medical centers, 176 hospitals, clinics 144, 907 outpatient clinics, 45 specialized health care facilities (centers blood pathoanatomical Bureau, etc.).
Of the total number of health facilities, 87% of organizations providing primary health care.
Created by such major medical organizations as: national scientific center of motherhood and childhood, Republican children's rehabilitation center, Republican diagnostic center, Republican scientific center for neurosurgery, the national research center of Oncology and Transplantology, national research cardiac surgery center etc.
Pursuant to the instructions of the President voiced in his address to the people of Kazakhstan in 2007 and in 2011, implemented the project "Construction of 100 schools and 100 hospitals" and ends with the implementation of the project "Construction of 350 outpatient clinics, feldsher-obstetric stations and clinics" with a total value of 360 billion tenge.
As of 1 November in the framework of the above projects built 441 health facilities, including in Akmola region – 19, Aktobe 26, Almaty - 48, Atyrau - 31, East-Kazakhstan - 32, Zhambyl - 32, West Kazakhstan - 21, Karaganda - 31, Kostanay - 20, Kyzylorda - 32, Mangystau - 31, Pavlodar - 23, North-Kazakhstan - 8, South-Kazakhstan - 66, Almaty – 12, Astana - 9.
Currently, the ongoing construction of 65 healthcare facilities, of which this year is planned to complete 26 and in 2017 – 39.
For the further development of a network of health experts MHSD this year carried out mapping and inventory of existing health care organizations, more than 8 thousand objects. Together with the specialists of the Kazakh-British technical University started to develop information systems "plan for the development of health infrastructure in terms of regions and levels of medical care".
In the development of public health infrastructure in addition to budget costs will be involved the resources of the private sector through PPP mechanisms, trust management and privatization.
