The Ministry of labor and social protection developed a Draft Law "On amendments and additions to some legislative acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the activities of trade unions" (hereinafter – Draft Law), the Concept of which was approved by 29 may 2017 to the IC on issues of legislative activities under the Ministry of justice.
The draft Law contains the following innovations:
1) the decline threshold quantity of citizens required for the formation of unions from 10 to 3 people;
2) the abolition of a two-stage registration of trade unions by simplifying the registration procedures, i.e. submission of documents necessary for state registration of trade unions will be carried out once (not later than two months from the date of the constituent Congress of trade Union), taking into account the compliance to the trade-Union associations provided by Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On trade unions";
3) specification of article 176 of the Labor Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan regarding the establishment of a ban on strike action at hazardous production facilities, if not will ensure smooth operation of the main equipment and industrial safety of those facilities.
Today completed the first phase of coordination with all concerned authorities and the social partners.
