He held a "round table" on the theme "Development of proposals to improve the measures of medical and social protection of citizens suffered from nuclear tests at the Semey test site," dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the city of Semey.
The meeting was attended by international experts from Japan, Germany, Russia and Belarus, as well as representatives of relevant government agencies, non-governmental organizations, scientists and researchers.
During the meeting it was discussed range of issues to assess health and social risks caused by exposure to ionizing radiation; the organization of protective and rehabilitation measures for populations exposed to ionizing radiation.
At the same time, during the event special attention was focused on the provision of medical and social protection of citizens' actions, affected by radiation exposure in countries such as Japan, Germany, Russia and Belarus.
Following the discussion, they agreed common positions on the practical implementation of the tasks of improving measures of medical and social protection of citizens suffered from nuclear tests at the Semey test site, as well as specific recommendations and proposals for their further implementation.
"Today, the world became much stronger integration processes in the social and legal systems. Globalization has an impact on the system of each state legislation alone, and becomes one of the factors determining the main trends of development of the states that require the legal community to develop new ways of cooperation, consolidation and coordination mechanisms. Therefore, we appreciate the importance of the round table as a pilot site for the exchange of experiences and the development of effective joint proposals to improve the measures of medical and social protection of citizens affected by the nuclear tests ", - noted in his speech the Vice-Minister of Labor and Social Protection of Population of Kazakhstan Svetlana Zhakupova .
Recall, the event was organized in the framework of the study "Evaluation of the effectiveness of protective and rehabilitation measures for populations exposed to ionizing radiation as a result of the Semey nuclear test site", held by order of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan Research Institute for Radiation Medicine and Ecology Ministry of health of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
