The President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev signed the law "On amendments and additions to some legislative acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on issues of special economic and industrial zones, attracting investment, development and promotion of exports, as well as social security", providing for measures of social support for low-income citizens and large families, as well as improving the mechanisms for the appointment of address social assistance (ASA), akorda.kz informs.
The law was developed in the framework of implementation of social measures of Elbasy "Aleumettik kamkorlyk". From 1 April this year, the criterion for the provision of ASA increased from 50% to 70% of the subsistence minimum, amounting to 20 789 KZT. If the average size of the ASA for each family member was previously 4 834 KZT, from April 20 789 KZT will be paid for each child. At the same time, adults are paid the difference between the average per capita income of the family and the size of the ASA criterion.
In addition, the monthly state allowance for parents raising a disabled child and persons caring for a disabled person in the first group since childhood has been increased by 30%.
It is expected that as a result of the measures taken, the number of ASA recipients will increase from 571.6 thousand to more than 830 thousand people.
