Minister of labor and social protection of population of the Republic of Kazakhstan Berdibek Saparbayev met with the representative of UNDP in RK Mr. Yakup Berish.
The meeting discussed the results and prospects of a number of joint projects aimed at solving the problems of poverty, improving the system of social protection of persons with disabilities and the introduction of special social services.
Welcoming the guest, Berdibek Saparbayev noted that the leadership of the country pays great attention to the solution of social issues.
Thus, the Minister spoke about the work to increase incomes and improve the quality of life of the population. These include the adoption of the National plan to ensure the rights and improve the quality of life of persons with disabilities until 2025, the implementation of a new mechanism for providing targeted social assistance to low-income citizens, as well as measures to reduce the debt burden of citizens.
"We are working closely to improve the sustainability of the system of social protection of Kazakhstan through improving the quality and targeting of services, as well as assistance to people in difficult situations, strengthening the capacity of employees and social professionals. In turn, Mr. Yakup Berish expressed readiness for cooperation not only within the framework of existing programs, but also on other topical issues of the social sphere.
"The Ministry has an important role in the large-scale work of the state to improve the quality of life of the population. And today it is gratifying to see the political will of the country's leadership to improve the life situation of socially vulnerable categories of citizens, supported by real financial investments.
