In Aktobe, under the chairmanship of the Chief state labor inspector of RK Tolegen Ospankulov, a seminar on the theme "Ensuring safe working conditions" was held with the participation of representatives of 5 regions of the republic (Aktobe, Atyrau, Mangistau, West Kazakhstan and Kyzylorda regions). During the event, the issues of compliance with occupational safety and health, as well as current problems and measures taken to address them were discussed.
The seminar was attended by: Deputy akim of Aktobe region Marat Tokzhanov, representatives of "KazMunayGas" NC JSC, the Committee for industrial development and industrial safety, the Ministry of healthcare of RK, the Federation of trade unions of RK, "Atameken" NCE, "RSRILP MLSPP RK" RSE, "SAC RK" Life insurance company" JSC and akimats of 5 above-mentioned regions.
"Ensuring safe working conditions is one of the most important priorities of the Ministry of labor. This year, within the framework of the information company "Safe work", we plan to hold 4 cluster seminars in the regions, with the participation of social partners ("Atameken" NCE, the Federation of trade unions) and representatives of interested state bodies. Only our joint efforts aimed at creating favorable working conditions for employees will be able to reduce occupational risks", – the Chief state labor inspector of Rk Tolegen Ospankulov, opening the event, said.
Speaking at the seminar, T. Ospankulov noted the importance of reducing the number of jobs with harmful working conditions. To date, 497 thousand employees of Kazakhstan are employed in harmful and dangerous working conditions, for which employers deduct mandatory occupational pension contributions in the amount of 5% of the employee's income.
"According to the authorized body for statistics, 373 thousand or every fourth (22.3%) of the 1.6 million employees surveyed in 2018 enterprises on working conditions, were employed in harmful and dangerous working conditions. In the past year, 676 thousand workers received various compensations for working in harmful working conditions. For these purposes, employers have allocated 116.3 billion tenge, that is 8 % more than in 2017, " Ospankulov informed.
It should be noted that the Ministry of labor and social protection of the population of RK declared 2019 the "Year of safety and labor protection". In this regard, several events dedicated to this topic will be held in the republic. This seminar is one of them. Its main goal is to unite the efforts of state bodies, business and public organizations of ensuring safe working conditions in the production.
According to the results of the seminar, the Chief state labor inspector of RK Tolegen Ospankulov gave relevant specific recommendations to the participants of the event on the organization of safety and labor protection.
In addition, the seminar participants visited the company with zero injuries-Aktobe branch of "KazTransOil" JSC, where the employer provides significant funding for the organization of safe working conditions. This company is a participant of the IX International conference and exhibition on labor protection and industrial safety "KIOSH 2019", as well as the competition of social responsibility "Paryz".
